THose kind of boosters or ODs make god first projects. The big decisions how to power them. Many options. One easy option is to use a 12V AC power cube, then put a coaxial jack on the box. This means you don't need any AC mains wiring. Then inside the box run a 12 volt transformer "backwards" and get 120VAC for your B+ supply. You can power the heater directly from the 12VAC or rectify, filter and regulate it to 6.3VDC Place all the passive components on a turret board so they are easy to swap out.
