I'm going to tell you how stupid I am so that others may learn. It's just a stab in the dark but you might want to look closely at your tube sockets, as I, durring the course of troubleshooting my amp inadvertently bent one of the socket pins to where it was almost touching another one. So if I cranked it, it could arc and make nasty sounds. This is probably not your problem, but I stared at my amp's guts for days without seeing it, so it might be worth 5 minutes of your time. |
