I rewired for AC only heaters per your instructions.
From the CT to one outer AC lead I now read 13.32VAC with the two 12k5s and two 12A_7 tubes in place.
I added the second 12a_7 tube hoping it would lower the voltage some but it is unchanged with or without that tube.
The voltage is only ~0.7V or ~10% high.
Can I leave this as is?
I'm aware of the possible reduction in tube life.
As long as it won't burn them out I can live with it I think.
So with the four tubes I'm pulling 1.2A.
The PT is not even getting warm nor for that matter is the LM317 anymore; the preamps' plates are unconnected though.
