As a former Alfa Romeo-owner, I can't argue with that.
Hoqever I can say that the car was a joy to drive at any speed (I had w habit of staying within the speedlimit, even of the particular road I happened to be on at the time.)
So basically, the perfectly valid reason for building this is that it can be done, and to satisfy a craving.
That's 2 reasons; even more persuasive!
