That's an interesting amp. I plan to wade into the bass amp waters slowly with a simple two tube KT88 push pull power section. I lack any idea what to do for a preamp yet. I probably model and bread board that until I have something I like. As I understand it, it' s fairly easy to drive KT88 to full power because they are such sensitive tubes. The complexity in bass preamps comes in to play for shaping the tone, where a rather high degree of mid-range flexibility is often provided implemented. |
