Just a quick question... isn't it somewhat "dangerous" to have such an arrangement?

I was reading in Merlin's preamp book about grid current in a triode, and that an excessive grid current could cause overdissipation and failure.

I kind of guessed the same problem could arise with the control grid in a pentode, right?
Are there any figures for what could be a maximum acceptable current?
