The power transformer is in the corner but the Ouput transformer is not.
I'm sure I don't need to post the liink :-)
I started off with the PT mounted bottom-right as viewed from the top of the chassis with the control panel facing towards me. I then did the headphone trick with the OT placed in the same position as the document. The laminates were at right angles to each other. I then moved the OT around and the least hum was found in the position in the corner. Ignore the fact that the OT was in the corner since it's exactly the same as rotating the PT thro' 90deg (which I couldn't do since it was bolted down) then moving the OT to the usual place.
This photo shows the current, quiet orientation of the trafos (not bolted down until I got some help here):
Notice that the trafo laminations are now parallel to each other and are also centrally aligned to each other. This is not the same as in the document which what is puzzling me.
