I do need to get better tools, but I don't use them that often. BUT, if I had better tools, I'd probably use them more. The best hole punches I've been able to find for aluminum are actually spade bits, but I didn't have any wood to back the metal. Without that, the holes kind of find their own center. For deburring the small holes, I have a 1/2" drill bit that's very sharp and cleans them right up with a quick twist with my fingers. The holes that are punched w/ the knock-out punches usually don't need any cleanup. For the middle-sized holes (3/8"-3/4") I usually just hit the back-side of them lightly with the stepped bit, but I can't get a drill into these. The octal sockets were delivered this morning so I might be able to get this whole thing done this weekend, other than the cab. Matt |
