Someone here, I'm not sure who, told me that drilling and preparing the chassis was the fun part of building amps. I don't know who you are, but I'll track you down. When I find you, I'll fly out to wherever you are and, under cover of darkness, wreak vengeance upon you in the most vile of all ways that are vile. I'll replace all of you preamp tubes with 741 op-amps. That'll teach ya. Spent last night deburring all the drilled holes. I need to find a place that will do real cheap custom one-off laser cut and professionally bent chassis. I don't think they exist. That or I need to buy higher-quality tools. The harbor-freight stepped drill bits just don't last very long. Their knock-out punch works pretty well, but only lasts about 3 chassis. But, all that said, I think I'll get most of the sockets and trannys at least mounted and the start soldering tomorrow. Matt. |
