all three I built with stock values clip very harshly and sound buzzy. if you drop the plate resistors down to "normal" 47-220k range, stick a 220k-470k grid stopper on stage 2 and/or a 250-1000p cap across the plate resistor, and bias the tubes a bit hotter then you're more in the ballpark. I think i ended up sticking a mid contour in one, which also helped. otherwise, you're better off building a DOD-250 clone, IMO. less parts, less work. |
